Richie Durgin
| Role | Youngest Durgin son |
| Status | Alive |
| First Seen | Session 1 |
| Last Seen | Session 10 |
| Affiliation | Durgin family |
Description
The youngest surviving Durgin son. 15 years old. Considers himself the cleverest of all ten Durgin siblings. Did not stay long at Ms March's school. Armed with a revolver and comfortable using it. Was sent outside by Hamish in Session 2 to work with the party — fought alongside them against the howlers. Happily explained to Cuthbert how cartridge ammunition works.
Notes
The Order sent Cuthbert a message: "The youngest Durgin must never produce offspring."
Cuthbert wrote back: "Do you want me to cut off his balls or something?"
The Order replied in Session 2: "By any means necessary. Top priority."
The reason for this warning is entirely unknown. In Session 2, the Order doubled down with urgency. Richie is fifteen years old.
In Session 3 downtime, Cuthbert tried a new approach: he asked Richie whether he wants children. Richie was understandably put off by this line of questioning. Cuthbert has messaged the Order: "Don't worry. Not over. Still working on it."
In Session 10 downtime, Cuthbert investigated whether he could magically affect Richie's balls. He discovered he could induce a lack of want and desire to have a child — affecting Richie psychically rather than physically — and created a powder to magically remove Richie's desire to have children.
Cuthbert teleported into Richie's bedroom in the middle of the night and blew the powder in the boy's face. Richie sneezed. Richie woke up. Richie yelled to his family that Cuthbert was in his room. Cuthbert teleported back to his tent.
Cuthbert has successfully stopped Richie Durgin from wanting to have children. He informed the Order and they sent a congratulatory message.
Why must Richie Durgin never produce offspring? The Order's urgency escalated, and the directive has now been carried out — but the reason remains entirely unknown. What does the Order know about him? And what has the powder actually done to a fifteen-year-old boy?
The Durgins know Cuthbert teleported into Richie's bedroom at night — Richie yelled it to the whole family. Cuthbert later sped the waggon up as it passed the Durgin residence and would not tell Doctor Webb the real reason why. What do the Durgins do about it?
