Hamish Durgin
| Role | Durgin patriarch |
| Status | Alive |
| First Seen | Session 1 |
| Affiliation | Durgin family |
Description
Hostile and distrustful. The Durgin patriarch. Originally had ten sons — only two remain: Luke and Richie. Spoke from inside the house initially, with a gun poking through a smashed window. Demanded the party disarm before talking.
The Durgin homestead is large, dilapidated, and cobbled together from different types of wood. Animal traps are laid every ten feet around the perimeter.
Notes
- Lost eight of his ten sons — circumstances unknown
- Accuses the Cranfields of killing one of the Durgins' pigs (it was slashed up, not killed cleanly)
- Refused the party's condolences about his sons ("shut up")
- Took Alfie inside as a hostage in Session 2; left Richie outside without a second thought
- Trusted Doctor Webb's logic — agreed the Cranfields and Durgins couldn't both be right about who was circling their house at night
- Brokered the truce with Joseph Cranfield; overrode Luke and Richie's objections ("Boys, I didn't ask y'all's opinion")
- Gave Alfie his banjo to keep him occupied; had mixed feelings when Alfie lit it on fire
- More pragmatic and worldly than his sons — he knows when to change his mind
What happened to Hamish's other eight sons?
